Italian fire departments have been using LANCO decontamination booths for several years.
In early 2017, fire departments received their first 3 x 4.5 m LANCO decontamination tent. The main task of the new Decon tent will be to decontaminate divers in contaminated waters.
The need arose when fire department divers had to dive in waters contaminated with all kinds of contaminants, including chemical and biological ones, during the salvage operations of Costa Concordia cruise ship wrecks when they had to decontaminate before undressing.
